After the Ceremony
When the ceremony is completed, the officiate performing the ceremony will then ask the bride and groom to face the guests and will present the couple as "Mr. and Mrs. (name)." The bride and groom will be last to leave the altar, with you escorting the maid of honor to the back of the church where wedding guests will be waiting to start the receiving line and congratulate the newly married couple.
The bride and groom will be the first in the receiving line, then the maid of honor and the best man, followed by the other members of the wedding party. You should attempt to say hello to every person coming through the receiving line, even if you do not know who they are.
After the guests have left the ceremony site, pictures are taken in the church where you will be required to smile and be presented along with other members of the wedding party.
The groom usually has one picture taken with him and the best man, so this is a good time to make sure your hair is neatly combed, your boutonniere is straight, and you are standing tall and proud.
