Best Man Tips

When the bride and groom are ready, you and the maid of honor will go to the location where the pictures will be taken. Many times, this will be in a park, by a stream, a bridge, or somewhere romantic and special to the couple. Upon arrival you, as the best man, should help the maid of honor out of the car and the bride and groom, if needed. At this point, it is customary for the best man to step back and allow the groom to take control of what pictures should be taken.

The groom will also now be responsible for keeping the wedding party organized and in good spirits. After all your hard work earlier, your duties are now limited, and all you have to worry about is smiling and having a good time. It is important to remember that the pictures will be taken at different times.

Just remember that you never know when the photographer will take pictures, so try to keep a nice smile on your face and show that you are enjoying the day. Staying focused on what is going on and helping to arrange the smaller children when needed are things that are important to the bride and groom, and they will appreciate your help.

When the actual wedding pictures are being taken, it is not a time to be joking and goofing off since the pictures are expensive and the photographers' time is valuable. Take responsibility for being prepared; the bride and groom would be disappointed if you were not properly buttoned, smiling, and attentive when it is time for pictures to be taken.
